Elena Ontiveros

Elena Ontiveros is the founder and principal teaching artist of The Studio for Music and Theatre Arts LLC. She received dual degrees from the University of Mississippi, a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Pedagogy, and has been teaching music and theatre ever since returning home to Madison in 2018. Previously, Elena taught at Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theater and Academy as a Teaching Artist, as well as at Musicology School of Music as a voice and piano teacher. Elena has also worked with different schools as a director and a music director. In 2020, she worked as a co-director for Bob Jones High School’s Advanced Drama class, and she has been music-directing  with Academy Children's Theatre for the last several years. Along with teaching, Elena also has over a decade of experience in performing in the community with a wide variety of groups including Independent Musical Productions, Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Academy, Lyrique Music Productions, Renaissance Theatre, and more. Along with performing on stage, Elena has also acted on screen, most recently in the feature films, It's Alright Now and God of Dreams. Performing and teaching are not Elena’s only passions, she is also an award winning makeup artist in the community having makeup designed multiple productions. Elena’s mission is to bring a unique blend of music and theatre education to people of all ages in our community.
